The GI Bill® Is Not Just for College

The GI Bill®, initially established post World War II, was designed to support veterans returning from service by funding their college education. Over the years, this legislation has seen substantial evolution to better serve the needs of veterans. Today, the GI Bill® extends well beyond just covering costs for bachelor’s degree programs at traditional universities. It now caters to veterans keen on acquiring vocational education or mastering a specific trade. The bill covers varied forms of educational pursuit inclusive of certificates and certifications from trade schools, associate degrees, and credentials in the technology field. This expansion ensures that veterans have access to a broad range of educational paths that can lead to rewarding careers post-service.

The GI Bill® Has Expanded

To fully utilize your GI Bill® benefits, it’s crucial to understand that the bill isn’t just one act, but a series of regulations that began with the Servicemen’s Readjustment Act of 1944. This has now evolved into the modern GI Bill®.

Later additions include the Post-9/11 GI Bill®, aimed at those who served on active duty following September 10, 2001, and the Forever GI Bill® of 2017, which eliminated the usage deadline, widening and enhancing the breadth of benefits available.

The GI Bill® now comprises a variety of programs specifically tailored to cater diversified audiences. For instance, it addresses veterans aspiring to be entrepreneurs and extends to the spouses or children of service members who died in the line of duty on or post September 11, 2001.

How Are Your Benefits Calculated?

GI Bill® benefits adapt in accordance with educational costs. For instance, the Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefits for 2023 have been updated to reflect the rising average cost of undergraduate education. It is typical for rates within most GI Bill programs to undergo annual changes. Therefore, it’s recommended to verify the rates for your program at least annually.

The Veterans Affairs (VA) department maintains a current list of education benefit rates, which simplifies the process of figuring out the amount you can anticipate receiving.

We Simplify the Process

Complete Game Broadcasting is a recognized education provider by the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), and is eligible to accept the GI Bill® benefits. This means that veterans and their family members who qualify for the GI Bill® can utilize their benefits to cover the costs of schooling and training at Complete Game Broadcasting. We have streamlined the process for veterans to check their GI Bill® eligibility and register for classes, making it an accessible opportunity for those looking to build skills in broadcasting.

We Do All the Front End Work

We do all the front end work by checking with the Department of Veterans Affairs on eligible benefits. If the applicant is eligible to use the GI Bill®, Complete Game Broadcasting can register the student online through the VA and based on percentage of qualified benefits, the VA will pay all or part of the Veterans tuition directly to Complete Game Broadcasting.
